Eu vivo nun bote no medio do mar

Derrubando muros con pintura 2015

Lola Oviedo was born and lives in Caión. From there, she can see the sea every day and the boats that, through our Atlantic motorway, go to the most different corners of the world. What she cannot see, however, is the Carballo coast, Razo and Baldaio, which Lola considers our Serengueti.
The work, according to Lola, aims to narrate the visual landscape of the sea from Carballo, if that were possible, and its buildings. With minimalist lines, in her mural, on the walls of the Carballo Calero pavilion, she represents the view of the Carballo coast from an elevated point, let’s say, from Monte Neme. It includes a journey along the roads that lead us to the sea through Lema, the Baldaio lagoon, the immense Atlantic, the port of Caión on the right and Malpica’s on the left.
The mural aims to be a look on the sandy beaches of Baldaio, Caión on one side and Malpica on the other, and all the roads that lead us there… A separate look on the north of the Costa da Morte, on the boats that not long ago populated this ocean’s convulsed and lush corner.
