Cristina Castro developed a creative interest early in life, but she decided to train as an artist years later at the EASD Pablo Picasso in A Coruña. She explains that she got “into a fascinating world without overthinking it. First with oils, later with acrylics in realistic style and now with children’s illustrations, I would like to tell stories with the minimum possible number of lines”.

The first mural she made for the project Derrubando muros con pintura, Butterflies, was an experience an a challenge, in Cristina’s words, because she went from small format pieces to painting an entire wall. In hindsight, she tells us that she would retouch many things but she keeps, above all, all the positive feedback received by the local people from A Milagrosa neighbourhood.
