Alejandra Martínez’s (Alita) work was made following the Bible’s history of the world creation in 7 days but under the local artist’s personal and subjective vision.
1st day: LOVE. Red Hearts arise and the presence of a goddess appears. It symbolises the philosophy of universal love as the origin of the whole. Female concept of creation.
2nd day: HEAVEN/EARTH. Green. The separation of the heavens and earth, like ying and yang. Nature begins to sprout irrigated by a grey sky, in which this vegetation will ripen with black spots and in which scattered love sprouts in the form of flowers.
3rd day: WATER. Blue After so much rain, drizzle and force from a Carballo´s grey sky, a river can be see on the horizon, a river that will be baptized, blessed by that powerful water, as river Anllóns.
4º day: TREE OF LIFE. Yellow. The mystical being of the river gives a seed to drink and the base of strength, a beautiful oak grows, which is what will give name to our town.
5th day: FRUIT AND ANIMALS. Brown. Strangely, hanging from a thread, from a branch, an apple already eaten… it seems to be the bite of a river snake.
6th day: LIGHT AND SHADOW. Black and white. At dawn, light beings can be seen playing around life, swinging with it… and so, a goddess who observes her, takes care of her and loves her, a grandmother-goddess, still enveloped by the darkness of the night possessed by the feminine force of the moon Catherine. The grandmother watches and remembers her past.
7º. TRANSFORMATION. All the remaining colours. The beings who inhabit the forest construct different tools by means of the materials that the mother earth provides, thanks to the force of the stick of wisdom that the grandmother-goddess found at the bottom of the river. They build bridges with the stones of the surroundings, stairs to reach the tops of the trees, to reach the houses where they lodge, windows that open to new worlds woven with patience and poetry.
