O lapis do graffiteiro
- Sokram (Sokram )
Sokram’s mural, O lapis do graffiteiro, is located on one of the sides of the town´s Pazo da Cultura. This mural was conceived in the painter’s mind as a metaphor around the world of artistic creation. It is a reflection on the urban art movement, which can be applied to other life areas; it aims to reflect on the current trend in this artistic field, whereby some creators try to make ever bigger works at the expense of the content. It is a metaphor for the race to conquer the highest peak.
For Sokram, the visual metaphor is mainly intended to refer to this subject, but the viewer’s reading can expand to many other areas as we live in a world where competition, obsession with size and aesthetics are our main concern. The final meaning is open to everyone’s interpretation. “It is well known: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And so it’s with urban art”.
Sokram, like Mou, has been one of the urban art festival “Desordes Creativos” organisers in the neighbouring town of Ordes and he currently coordinates the “RexeneraFest” in Carballo.
