Derrubando muros con pintura 2014

This mural can be found on the Municipal market first floor and is a unique example among those that have been painted in Carballo. It is a hand-formed ceramic mural, with relief and that uses flat and intense colours to represent a Carballo’s distinctive event: “A Feira” (the local fair) .
The main figure is Santo Antón de Vilardefrancos oak, in the Artes parish; it is a unique tree of several hundred years and an imposing bearing, which takes a few people to be able to embrace it and which has a characteristic eye where young women used to throw stones to guess their luck on finding a boyfriend, having children…Acorns fall from the oak, or perhaps they are faces with berets, some have long hair, smiles… that together with some bread muffins above a table under the shade of the tree let us remember that Carballo is bustling with people on “feira” days. On the side, a Dalí-styled clock reminds us that time goes by, though not in the same way for everyone.
