The Galician artists Twee Muizen (two mice in Dutch), will be in Carballo to paint a mural and to teach a tufting workshop

One of the most interesting moments of each edition of the Rexenera Fest is the introduction of the guest artists who will continue to create works of art in the streets of Carballo. We begin with two Galician artists Denis and Cris, Twee Muizen. Denis studied Fine Arts and Cris Fashion Design. They got together, fell in love and, while working in a Dutch warehouse, they decided to change the corporate life for a smaller place but more lively. They returned to Galicia and brought the name with them: Twee Muizen, which in Dutch means two mice.

They form the perfect synergy, as they combine illustration and painting with he creation of their recognizable art toys, unique pieces designed, drawn, cut out, sewn and sent by themselves.

They currently live and work in Barcelona, where they combine their workshop with a gallery where they show their latest pieces. With their careers as muralists, we can’t wait to see what they have planned for Carballo’s walls!

WORKSHOP: INTRODUCTION TO TUFTING

In addition to being able to enjoy their work as muralists, you will have de opportunity to participate in the parallel activities with Twee Muizen. Thus, Cris -one of the two “mouses”- will teach from June 8 to 10 in Carballo a tufting gun initiation workshop in which you will learn to make your own tapestry using this technique.

You will have the opportunity to try two types of methods to create different textures. Rugs, tapestries, cushions… ¡any textile idea you can think of can take shape!
